Asian Beef Stew

Ingredients

500 gms beef brisket, cut into serving pieces
1 pk Clara Olé Kung Pao Pasta Sauce 225g
1/2 cup Clara Olé Chunky Tomato with Basil Pasta Sauce 225g
1 cup whole mushrooms, halved
½ cup diced red bell pepper
1 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
1 tbsp oil
2 tbsp minced garlic
½ cup chopped onions
1 pk star anise
2 cups water
½ cup sliced onion leeks
1 tbsp cornstarch
3 tbsp water

Procedure

Marinate beef in Clara Olé Kung Pao Pasta Sauce, salt and pepper for at least 45 minutes.
In a pan, sauté the garlic, onions and star anise in oil.
Sear in beef, a few pieces at a time. Add water and bring to a boil. Simmer for 30 minutes.
Add in vegetables and Chunky Tomato with Basil Pasta Sauce. Cook until tender. Thicken with cornstarch slurry.
Serve with rice.
